Yeah, I'm superstitious. When the moon is full, things happen. People get into ugly fights, hearts start beating too fast, amniotic sacs burst open, and the mysterious process of labor gets jump-started. What can I say? Only that it is a poor excuse for a life philosophy to exclude superstition in pursuit of science.

It's true - a full moon and the ER starts hopping. When I was the administrator over a Level 1 Trauma unit, we all knew that a full moon sets off some mysterious trends. Everything from more babies being born to spikes in trauma activations. Also, what we called the "crazies" come out...more violence related injuries and psych cases.
Thanks for sharing your experience - it confirms what I have seen.
