I don't know. I was thinking school projects, or papermaking. There are a lot of artisans who live up here, and I have seen paper wasp nest segments in handmade paper before. I have an old wasp's nest outside my garage (last season's) and plan to call these guys to find out.

You have to help me: what is the use of a hornet's nest? I tired Googling and Ask.com. Apparently, in Iowa they suggest displaying them?
