I'm behind on writing posts, and here's why: I attended one birth on New Year's Eve and FOUR since New Year's Day. That's a lot of births for January, which is usually a light month.
I feel like a twist-tie which has been used too often, so this is it for the day. More to follow.

I just finally wanted to post a comment. I'm an expecting mom who is possibly in labor (at the moment!) and am planning a homebirth after a great unmedicated 1st birth in the hospital. I found your blog through the birth stories you post. I love reading your birth stories and think all the lousy press you have been receiving lately on other blogs is from people with way too much time on their hands. How can they claim to know anything about you and be able to pass judgment. I think you're story about Nola's birth was probably was excellent and showed that dr's are humans and are vulnerable to all the same emotions as everyone else, but need to remain calm and get through it. I am in awe at your ability to do so and help her birth healthy babies.
From what I have read I know you are a strong woman committed to practicing good medicine. I hope your career continues to be fulfilling and that you continue to share with your readers your unique insight into small town medicine.
I also hope that your partner is recovering nicely and that your lives can return to normal. Good luck with the decorating!
